Dear WordPress, I kinda think you are cool…

The folks at WordPress sent me my 2010 blog year in review… considering this has been my most neglected blog in 2010, it kinda made me smile.  Because I know 2011 is going to be so much more awesome.  Thanks!

Writefly Is Getting A Brand New Look!

An all new writefly. coming your way!

I’m sure you noticed.

Our spiffy new digs.  But,that’s just the beginning of the all the special writerly goodness to come with the relaunch of Writefly.  Keep an eye out for our long awaited return to regularly scheduled programming, with all of your old favorites and some brand spanking new features we just can’t wait for you to see.

While we’re in the midst of our cyber-makeover, be sure to drop us a line and let us know if there are any site elements you’ve been especially missing , or ideas for breathtaking innovations you would love to see introduced.  We want to make sure you have everything you need to make your writing life fun and productive.

Thank you to all for your patience in our absence.  We’ll have more to share about the site in the weeks to come, so please stay tuned.

Writefly will be back in full pesky action on January 1, 2010.

A Note on Consistency and Writing Prompts

My apologies for being far less than consistent in the last few weeks with writefly. As much as I would love to spend a few hours a day developing the site, school, family obligations and honestly a strong desire to spend lazy summer afternoons with my nose buried in an actual book have been keeping me offline a lot.

I have a brief reprieve between school semesters coming up where I will try and get some more work on the site, but I’m not able to make any promises at this point about daily writing prompts, because I will be taking on more classes next semester, along with beginning working as a volunteer surgery liaison at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and trying to find some time for my own writing projects. I think I’m supposed to have a social life in there too somewhere…but we’ll see!

My hope is that things will settle down into a manageable rhythm quite soon and I’ll be able to offer you even more.

In the mean time, and as a peace offering to make up for what may be random timing, I wanted to direct you to some of my favorite resources for prompts as I do find doing them an invaluable tool for getting the writing juices flowing on a daily basis.

So without further ado please check out some of these great resources….and keep writing!!

‘The Pocket Muse’ by Monica Wood

Welcome Wordslingers…

Tumble on in and find a cozy nook.  We’ve pulled out the red carpet and the good wine and chocolate.  So grab yourself a snack, make yourself at home and by all means, call us “Writefly.” Absolutely everybody does.

So, you’ve been bitten by the writing bug. The writefly at work.

I’m guessing about now he’s flitting at your foot, darting at your arms and landing on your nose. He’s a bit unrelenting in his pursuits, but perfectly harmless. He’s really only after one thing. Your attention! He’ll do whatever it takes to get the television off, your body away from the couch and those masterpieces written.
Of course, fair warning…at other times…he can be a pesky muse, buzzing about your ears, whispering in them at super-sonic speed and refusing to care at all that it’s 3am and you are living on coffee and stale donuts.  After all, he’s just a fly, what does he know about rest? But look at you!  You are pounding out pages, dreaming up plots and the little guy we like to call the Writefly’s Apprentice is seriously blissed. A few more hours of this and he just might let you rest! So come on, grab a cuppa joe and enter The Writefly Zone…
We’re positively buzzing!
